Dr. Hawkins
To quote Frederick Douglas, “It is easier to build strong children than repair broken adults”. This is a sentiment that has consistently influenced the remarkable Dr. Cassandra Mmabatho Hawkins throughout her career. She brings to the Academy, an impressive 29 years of devoted service in education. Dr. Hawkins also brings with her, a specialization in Language Arts, and also an additional 11 years dedicated to impactful mission work. She was recognized as a VIP member in 2020 by the Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized (P.O.W.E.R). Dr. Hawkins draws from her extensive Speech, Theater, and Communications background to empower young minds to unleash their creativity. She also encourages students to cultivate essential problem-solving skills fearlessly.

Mrs. Tulini
Mrs. Tulini has a diverse teaching background. She has passionately guided students from 1st and 2nd grade Special Education to 4th and 5th grade Middle School. Additionally, she provided support to 9th and 10th graders in need and During the pandemic, she embraced online teaching via Google Classroom breakout rooms. Her career peaked at retirement in June 2022. Here, she will teach Grades 1-5, high school Language Arts and Social Studies. She plans to also include Grades 3 and 4 Social Studies and Science. She will also include Grades 1-4 Math if required.
Mr. Cantu
Mr. Cantu is your guide to the wonderful world of music. At Brainfood Academy; his mission is to educate students through captivating music lessons. The primary focus will be on mastering the language of musical chords. His dedicated class will grow their guitar-playing skills. Using his extensive musical experience and knowledge, he dedicates himself to helping students reach true proficiency in the fine art of music. He is one of the proud founders of Mariachi bands, officially recognized with credits in the State of Texas, He plans to share his love of music with all his students.
Professor Ms. Jackson
Ms. Francine Jackson is your guide into the world of physics. With her rich background as a professional astronomy educator, she has shared the wonders of the universe with learners of all ages and across various planetariums. Ms. Jackson’s mission is to show that science isn’t just confined to the classroom; it’s an integral part of our everyday lives. As an Educator and Astronomy curator at Brown University, she hopes to ignite your curiosity in the world of Physics and Astronomy. Our world thrives on numbers, and she is eager to unravel our universe through these numerical threads. Let her show you the incredible makeup of our universe.
Ms. Starling
Ms. Starling is a University of Florida graduate in Elementary Education and a minor in Science, She has devoted most of her professional journey to specialized teaching, focusing primarily on elementary-level Reading and Math. Her passion lies in developing students’ genuine love for reading and math!
This academic year, she will embark on a special journey teaching first graders Reading and Math. The reading curriculum and our exploration will include Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Fluency, Handwriting, Grammar, and Punctuation. The world of math will be our academic playground. For the fourth-grade class, she will continue to utilize her math expertise. She will cover these essential topics: Base Ten Numbers and Operations, Algebraic Thinking, Numbers and Operations related to Fractions and Decimals, Measurement and Data, Geometry, and critical skills of Mathematical Reasoning and Problem Solving. She is excited and anticipates the opportunity to be your child’s teacher in the near future and contribute to their educational journey with dedication and enthusiasm.
Mr. Janecek
Mr. Janecek strongly believes that looking into our past is essential. Why? , understanding our history is the key to comprehending our present, and it empowers us to create a more informed course into the future. History is really not a debatable topic; it happened, and we can’t alter or dispute it. Mr. Janecek believes we can engage in open discussions, derive valuable lessons, and educate ourselves on both the triumphs and mistakes of our past. He is dedicated to fostering these discussions and improving our students’ historical awareness, spanning from the Renaissance to contemporary events. Consequently, this approach will equip our students to find their own voices and enable them to distinguish fact from opinion and make informed decisions. The outcome will be a generation of individuals who can think critically, reason based on facts, and become influential forces in our ever-evolving world.
Mrs. Fish
Mrs. Fish is a passionate educator who loves to communicate not just with words, but also with her hands. Despite having special needs related to her breathing, she plans to inspire her students to recognize their uniqueness. Through the magic of sign language and interactive teaching methods, she’ll demonstrate that learning knows no bounds.

Ms Wendy
Ms. Wendy is your guide for an exciting year at Brainfood Academy. She received Special Education training at the University of Hawaii from 2018 to 2020. She has worked with elementary students since 2017. Ms. Wendy also brings with her three years of tutoring experience in Math and Language Arts. In addition, she taught conversational Cantonese to elementary children for three years. Some fun facts about Ms. Wendy? She’s married, has four dogs and a cat, and enjoys cooking, singing karaoke, and playing with her dogs. She currently lives in Hawaii and believes in making learning fun in the classroom.
Ms. Wendy will be teaching 9th-grade Math, assisted by her trusty sidekick, Felix (a stuffed animal), She will cover essential topics such as Number Sense and Operations (counting, addition, subtraction), Measurement and Data (comparing objects, graphs, and charts), Geometry (2D and 3D shapes), and Patterns and Relationships (numbers, shapes, and objects). Mr. Corey Hamilton
Math challenges many students. But fear not, because Mr. Hamilton holds the key to unlocking your “brain power” and conquering mathphobia. He will unveil the fundamentals of math, which will allow you to discover the joy in numbers. Math isn’t confined to textbooks; it’s a key part of our daily lives, from agriculture to everyday activities. Mr. Hamilton’s mission is to make math enjoyable. He empowers students to take control of it and not be ruled by it. He excels at breaking down the essential components of math and eliminating the fear associated with them. Mr. Cole is thrilled to introduce himself as a dedicated teacher at Brainfood Academy Online School. With a strong academic foundation and a wealth of experience, he’s here to guide and inspire students in middle and high school on their educational journey.
